Overview:

The Substitute Teacher will provide quality classroom instruction in the absence of the classroom teacher. The Substitute Teacher will assist students with the learning objectives that have been established by the classroom teacher. 

Qualification:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Academic College hours are highly preferred. All Substitute Teacher Candidates are required to:

1. complete and submit an online application
2. attend a Substitute Training Class
3. successfully complete and pass a criminal history background check that is fingerprint based (Texas D.P.S. and F.B.I. Data Base). The Substitute Teacher Candidate is responsible for the cost of the fingerprint based criminal background check.
4. provide at least three work related references. References from family members will not be accepted. The Substitute Teacher Candidate must have a record of successful workplace experiences and at least 3 work related references.
   

Substitute Teacher Training Classes are limited to 15 Substitute Teacher Candidates per class.  After the Substitute Teacher application has been submitted all Substitute Teacher Candidates are required to call 806-273-1006 and reserve a seat for a Substitute Teacher Training Class. Reservations for each of the Substitute Teacher Training Classes will only be accepted beginning on the scheduled day that reservations are opened and close at Noon on the scheduled reservation close day. Class reservations are scheduled on a first come first served basis. Substitute Teacher Candidates will only be considered for employment after all requirements have been successfully completed.

New Substitute Teacher Training classes for the 2020-2021 school year are scheduled for the following dates:

  **This will be the last sub training for the 20-21 school year.

All Substitute Teacher Training sessions begin at 1:30 pm. Training dates and training locations will be confirmed when reservations are made for each class.
