General Overview:
General knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine maintenance & repair
Ability to diagnose mechanical problems & perform repairs independently
Ability to operate equipment & tools involved in vehicle repair
Ability to lift heavy equipment & vehicle parts necessary to perform job
Ability to operate all types/models of school buses & other district owned vehicles & equipment
Computer experience with ability to operate & maintain vehicle maintenance software
Ability to utilize & access printed service material for additional information
Ability to perform mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections on automotive, medium & heavy duty vehicles
Ability to perform as a Substitute Bus Driver as needed
Qualifications:
Class B CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsement preferred but not required. Will train qualified applicant. Expectation for completion of the Class B CDL is within the first 90 days of employment.
Diesel and automotive repair experience.
ASE certification preferred, but not required.
Must have acceptable criminal and driving record.
Able to pass pre employment and random drug testing, DOT or school bus driver medical certification.
