General Overview:

• General knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine maintenance & repair
• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems & perform repairs independently
• Ability to operate equipment & tools involved in vehicle repair
• Ability to lift heavy equipment & vehicle parts necessary to perform job
• Ability to operate all types/models of school buses & other district owned vehicles & equipment
• Computer experience with ability to operate & maintain vehicle maintenance software
• Ability to utilize & access printed service material for additional information
• Ability to perform mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections  on automotive, medium & heavy duty vehicles
• Ability to perform as a Substitute Bus Driver as needed

 

Qualifications:

 

• Class B CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsement preferred but not required. Will train qualified applicant. Expectation for completion of the Class B CDL is within the first 90 days of employment.
• Diesel and automotive repair experience.
• ASE certification preferred, but not required.
• Must have acceptable criminal and driving record.
• Able to pass pre employment and random drug testing, DOT or school bus driver medical certification.
